Explorations in Art: Art 200X Kevin Huo

Introduction:  The idealization of the 'Renaissance' period of either Italian or Northern contains a certain degree of serendipity. Notable 'renaissance'  artists attempt to depict a royal, wealthy, and noble cause of the 'human spirit'. In describing the human spirit one can think of the 'renaissance' as the revival of art in all its glory through religious, economic, and societal influences.  Retrospection: As a student examining all the various forms of art elements of the 'renaissance' period ranging from Boticelli, Michelangelo, or even Leonardo da Vinci in the Italian renaissance then followed by the rise of Northern renaissance such as Jan Van Eyck, Albrecht Durer, and Hieronymus Bosch. There are often, that our senses are overused, by the continuous barrage of noise, images, and smells that distract us from something that may be more important. There are these moments in life, based on the places we are in where we begin to lose focus on the details around us. My name is Kevin Huo, I am currently an undergraduate studying here at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. I am majoring in Anthropology and Political Science. To past time I rather enjoy the little things from tuning in to KSUA 91.5 FM Fairbanks student radio, writing a multi-page memo on the Arctic for U.S. State Department, or even catching the local double-diamond ski run with some friends.
